- Mark your calendars for Friday, May 11th @ The Little Fox Theater...
-
The Men of Tin are both pleased and excited to announce our first
Headlining gig at the Little Fox Theater! In fact, according to sources
in the know, this is the first time a Rock Cover Band has headlined the
Little Fox in several years. We attribute this opportunity to a lot of
hard work and most importantly to our fans who continue to support us.
Without you, we'd still be stuck in a garage somewhere!
We will be performing a long two hour set that will feature several
new songs for you to groove to and enjoy. This will be a big night so
don't miss it!
Opening the show will be two great young bands that have been doing
quite well for themselves on the local circuit. First up at 8:00pm will
be tribute to the 70's... The Silicon Cowboys, who will bring their
brand of bad boy rockin' fun. Up next will feature BIG DADDY SUNSHINE
as they move the night a little modern with great renditions of classic
songs from the last twenty years. Finally, TinMan will groove you deep
into the night with our spin on some of the greatest songs ever
recorded. Tickets are $12.00 advanced and $14.00 at the door. More

TinMan we will be opening for guitarist extraordinaire Les Dudek
-
Location: Little Fox Theater in
Redwood City Les Dudek is one of the great, unsung guitar
heroes of the classic rock era. His name may not be as familiar as the
Allman Brothers' and Steve Miller's, but Les contributed to the albums
that would come to define those artists. Les's career took off after an
early opportunity with the Allman Brothers. Following Duane Allman's
death, Les was brought in to help record "Ramblin Man" and, later,
"Jessica". Boz Scaggs snatched Dudek up, producing Dudek's first solo
album and forging a musical partnership that would result in Scaggs'
classic "Silk Degrees" album. While working with Boz, Dudek befriended
a group of musicians with whom he would work extensively; those same
musicians later enjoyed a wildly successful career as Toto. In 1980
Les formed Black Rose with Cher, releasing one of the more rocking
endeavors in her entire catalog. In the intervening years, Les has
continued on as a solo artist. In the 90's he released the acclaimed
"Deeper Shades of Blues" album, and just recently unveiled "Freestyle",
a retro-fueled mix of songs both new and old, and featuring
contributions from Stevie Nicks and Jeff Porcaro, among others. Let's
go freestylin' with Les Dudek! www.lesdudek.com

- TINMAN GETS BASS BOOST!
-
TinMan welcomes their new bass player and band member - bass guitar pro and vocalist
'Philly' Bill Weir, to the band lineup! Bill is a 'seasoned' musician and vocalist with stage
presence and should prove a great addition to the already popular TinMan groove!
In recent months, TinMan has successfully co-headlined one of the bay area's premier
concert clubs -The Little Fox Theater in Redwood City multiple times, played the world famous
Slims in San Francisco and numerous other venues in Northern California. With Bill's addition
to their lineup, TinMan looks forward to expanding their success and fan base beyond the bay
area borders. Welcome 'Philly' Bill!
PS - Bill earned his nickname while playing bass for east coast blues/rock guitar great
Mike Dugan, since Bill lived to closest to the City of Brotherly Love!

New FunnelHeads were in the house as the TinBoys gave a two set
performance at the Crow on the waters
of Santa Cruz. It was a good night to prove their worth and they
were asked back for a Friday night (July 28th) show. We now know
the weekends are when the hippies from the cradle of California
environmentalism usually crawl out of their yurts to get the groove
on with a rock band of heartfelt stature such as us. We can't wait
for the return engagement!
- 2006-04-14
-
The Little Fox certainly felt BIG Friday night. Perhaps it was the
sold out crowd, but we'd like to believe it was the thunderous wall
of sound emmanating from our instruments as we flew threw the most
energetic set the Men of Tin have yet to play! Nothing but good
vibes and rivers of beer flowing through our arteries, and even a
touch of magic... But that's another story altogether...
- 2006-03-04
-
Babe was in the house and the boys rocked another night, taking no
prisoners. Ok, so a couple of willing prisoners did came home with
unmentioned band members. Fun was had by all, but if you weren't
there you missed a big night and willing prisoners. Oh and we got
word dear old Tumbleweed
has hit the rails for cities unknown and is now gone forever. His
harp will be missed.

KFOX studios fell victim to foul cosmic weather and tumbled down a
wormhole into an alternate universe before they could announce the Last
Band Standing finalists. Messages in bottles have tumbled back through
the wormhole, according to reports on the scene, proclaiming affection
for missed loved ones and pets; sending requests for food, water, and
deodorant; and communicating this: "We hope to make it back, but we
are compelled to at least complete our duty to the world by announcing
the summarily-decided award of the 'Greatest Force For Uplifting
Humanity' prize to TinMan!"
When the TinMan forces return from providing rescue services to those in
less fortunate dimensions they will play a victory concert at Babe's
Place in Livermore.
